More South Africa Pics

Here are the last of the few good pics we got. I have more that I might post later, but this is mostly it.

This is the view from our room at the hotel. It was a great corner room that opens out into the central courtyard.

Crazy birds that kept waking us up. This is around 5:30 am.

Our hotel- diagonally from our room.
The patio off the breakfast room.

Every morning I would open our back door, drag the chair over and read in the early morning sunlight. Loved starting my days this way!

We visited the site of the new Baby Home. Eventually when all the construction is completed, there will be 8 children's houses, 1 central rec room, a cafeteria and a general store.

Some of the kids getting ready to leave for school.

This is the new Baby Home- Birth-9mos. The homes are built as they have funding. Nothing is done on credit or through loans.

Everyone is expected to help in some way or another. Many of the orphans will "help" by decorating the walls with tile mosaics. Different groups will adopt different areas to work on. Several drawings have been done so the kids can just fill in the blanks.
This is Mariett Boshoff, or Ouma (Grandma in Afrikaans). She runs the orphan home, House of Safety and Feeding Scheme.
Tile pieces for the children.
Playground for the younger children.

Inside the Baby Home.
Huge field where they host an annual Christmas Party. They start early in the morning and bus kids in from all over. At the party, they have around 14,000 kids that they feed, play games and give a gift to.

Older kids' playground.

Future site for 6 children's homes.
Construction on 9mo-18mo Home.
