Chloe's Birthday Party

Chloe's party this year had a Sweet Treats theme to it. I am pretty sure she just wanted candy at her party this year. I guess after 6 parties with no real candy, it was time.

This is the table before we put the food out. And before the kids arrived and started picking at the goodies.
Apothecary jars filled with candies.

Lots of cupcakes!

Chloe's birthday cake
The birthday girl! Aunt Sammi came over early and curled her hair for her- she really enjoyed the attention!

A game where the kids popped balloons and won prizes.
Silly girls- and Logan

Blowing out the candles- which turned out to be trick candles ;)

The kids all had a great time! I guess as a kid, how could you not with all the candy and sweets!!!!

Feb

Time just keeps flying by! We are getting ready for Chloe's birthday party tomorrow. I know, I know. Her birthday was a week ago. But last weekend we had our youth Winter Retreat- to which we took Chloe with us. She had a great time and bossed most of the teens around! Since it was her birthday weekend, we made sure that we did extra special things with her. After one of the night services, we went to the Aquatic Center to swim. One afternoon we went ice skating and of course we did way too much shopping!!!! The downside, though, is I forgot my camera!

For her birthday breakfast, Chloe asked for pancakes with homemade whipped cream. She savored every bite of this rare breakfast treat!!!!

Jeremy and I are getting things ready for our trip to South Africa, which we are so excited about!!!! As much as I love traveling, I am NOT looking forward to 22 hrs of flight time! It might not be as bad if it was a non-stop trip. But that's just not possible. So with airport time, the trip is around 26 hrs. But the weather will be wonderful while we are there!!!!! I love 80 degrees, sunshine and ocean!

Here is a picture of my latest cake creation. It was a 16th birthday cake for a girl who loves BRIGHT colors and books. Odd combo, I know. But she absolutely LOVED her cake!!!! I'm just about ready to turn my cakes into a real business ;)

After tomorrow's party I will have more pictures to post!

For the month of January, Jeremy and I cut out coffee and caffeine. Well, I guess I should say for most of the month.... This last week of Jan, we started drinking decaf. It was nice to get the "need" out of our systems. I love waking up in the mornings and not needing to make a pot of coffee to get the day started! Although I still really like drinking coffee, I am ok without it. But I have begun a new love- tea! Not the tea bags you get from the store, but real leafy tea. I am drinking herbal teas with no caffeine and really enjoy them. Jeremy is going back to coffee, just not as much as before, now that January is over. I, however, have decided to stick with my teas and just do coffee on occasion. I think I will become a social drinker ;)
