1st Snow

It started snowing last night! We were pretty surprised to have snow in our area.

This was our backyard early this morning. I don't have pretty pictures from the daytime because I was one of the those crazy people that still went to work today. But I did wait until 10am. I didn't really have to go but since I have workaholic tendencies there were things that I wanted to get done. But at least I don't have to go in tomorrow! I'm a smart one, I brought it home with me!

Chloe went to a friend's house today and got to play in the snow. They built snowmen and had a snowball fight. But she is still a little upset with me because I wouldn't let her make snow angels! It's the mom in me- I didn't want her head getting wet and her to get sick :P

Thanksgiving

This year at Grandma Shirley's there was a gingerbread house contest between the boys and the girls. It was such a fun, and messy, time!

This is the Boys' Happy House

The girls decided to go with a Castle, instead of a house- after all, we are princesses!

At the end, those that hadn't participated did the judging and the girls won. Our prize is that we don't have to do dishes on Christmas Eve!

Ok, funny story about this picture. I only got this one because I had to rescue the uncles! Chloe sat in the living room for quite a while. I could here her talking but didn't quite see what was going on. Apparently she decided to tell all the uncles a very detailed, very lengthy story. The only problem was that all the uncles were trying to watch the football game. She didn't even notice that they weren't paying attention to her! Uncle Tim would look over at her every once in a while and give her a "uh-huh" and a smile and then go back to the game. Little did he know but he only encouraged her to keep telling stories! I have no idea how long she had been telling stories, but from the looks on the uncles' faces it had probably been a while :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, I hope you have a wonderful time with your families and friends!

Col 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

In the Amplified Bible, at the end of the verse, it reads "And be thankful, giving praise to God always."

We truly have so much to be thankful for- an amazing God, great families, great churches, great friends, etc. It is easy to look at our possessions and become discontent with what we have. But we should use our unhappiness as an indicator that it's time to refocus our thoughts. When we remember what we do have and how far we have come over the years, our hearts can be content in whatever situation we find ourselves. And we know that God has greater things ahead for us. Even though this year is not over yet, I am looking forward to the next year. I know God has some amazing things in store for us and it is only going to get bigger and better!

26 Weeks

These were taken last week, at 26 weeks. Time is going fast and I am finally starting slow down on the growing!

Lately...

It seems like the last few weeks have just flown by! I looked on here and realized it had been 2 weeks since I had written anything. We are doing well- just getting ready for the long stretch of holidays. It seems like every weekend between now and February is taken up by some kind of holiday gathering, birthday or youth event.
We decided not to have our annual Thanksgiving at our house this year and I already miss it! I have about a zillion dishes running through my head that I want to make. I might make them anyways and force the family to eat- yes, Deena, you WILL overeat!!!
This weekend we cleaned out Logan's room and put up the baby stuff. Now we are anxious to start buying all the baby things! This weekend I'm going to get our bedding and curtains because I just can't wait any longer! Even Chloe is into it. After we put up the crib- which she calls the baby's cage- Chloe brought one of her pillows and a blanket to put in there so Logan wouldn't get cold. It took some persuading, but finally she believed us that we would buy Logan his own set and she could keep hers. I don't know how he would feel about pink & purple Hello Kitty! Even though I feel very pregnant and look it, having the room set up makes it even more real to us.
Chloe talks nonstop about her baby Logan and wants so badly to be a big helper when he gets here. Tonight we had some friends over and she came in and asked, "Everyone, do you want to see my baby brother's cage?" He's not here yet, but she is already so proud of him! Now she wants to teach him how to climb trees and do ballet!
And now for the greatest news of the last few months!!!! I can drink coffee again!!!!! You have no idea how excited I am. I can stand the smell of it, I like the taste of it, I am complete once again. Ok, maybe that's a little over the top... but not by much! Shortly after Fran died on us, I stopped liking coffee (only to find out I was pregnant). But now I have good reason to get a new espresso machine. I'll just add that to my Christmas list. It's funny how that list keeps growing :)

Fall Fun Party

We had our Fall Fun Party on Tuesday night. Chloe was spoiled beyond belief! She got enough candy for 10 kids! This year was so much fun because she really enjoyed playing all the games and the inflatables. She went on the giant slide about 100 times. We had searched forever to find Chloe's costume- she HAD to be a ballerina from Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses. While there were tons of Princess Genevieve dresses, it was hard to find the ballerina set. She was so adorable as a ballerina. But because we were late getting to the North location due to traffic I didn't get any pre-fun pictures. So by the time I caught up with her and got pictures, her hair had come loose and the little bit of makeup was pretty much gone! And of course her ballet slippers had disappeared!!! So although I didn't get all the pictures I wanted, she had a great time!

24 Weeks

Things are going well- just growing at rapid rates! We were going through pictures of when I was pregnant with Chloe the other night. I am the same size now at 24 weeks as I was with her at 38 weeks! It is crazy to think that this is how big I got with her. And I still have a few months to grow! Logan is VERY active and I think he may be a soccer player! He sure does love to kick!!! People have been asking if I have had crazy cravings while being pregnant. I haven't had any crazy cravings but my taste buds have changed. I don't like fish right now, I still gag at the smell of coffee, I prefer beef to chicken, and I love pop! I am not a pop drinker but right now I love it. I am hooked on diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. And I like chocolate! I don't usually prefer chocolate anything but I do for now. Fortunately, I do have self-control! I don't want to gain too much weight :)
