This weekend turned out to be full of excitement for Chloe. On Saturday, we went and picked up Chloe's "Surprise." For many months, Chloe has been talking about wanting a girl dog named Sissy. I've told her so many times not yet, we would wait until Logan was older. I think Logan was about 1 week when she started telling us Logan was older, could she now have a dog? A friend of ours got a Cockapoo a few years ago and we said when they bred her, we wanted a puppy. Well, the puppies just turned 8 weeks :) We have been to see the puppies several times so Chloe was familiar with them. Then on Saturday, we introduced her to a puppy named Sissy. "You mean there are two Sissys? This Sissy and my Sissy?" "No, there is just one Sissy. And she's all yours." This picture is the look on Chloe's face when she realized she was getting Sissy. And this is definately Chloe's dog!
She follows Chloe EVERYWHERE! The first night, Jeremy and I didn't get any sleep because Sissy cried all night. But as soon as Chloe was up, she was fine. Last night, Chloe fell asleep and we put Sissy in her bed. She started crying and I knew Jeremy couldn't do another night with no sleep. So, I put Sissy in Chloe's bed. No crying. She curled up next to Chloe and went right to sleep. When I got up at 5 with Logan, I took Sissy to the bathroom. When she was done, she wanted back with Chloe, where she stayed until they got up this morning at 7:30.
I know Chloe is only 4, but she has been doing a great job of helping with Sissy. If she sees Sissy looking for a place to use the bathroom, Chloe quickly takes her to her puppy pad. She keeps water in her bowl and helps with the dog food. Chloe keeps track of where Sissy is (she is so tiny that she easily gets lost!). And Chloe is learning to be GENTLE! Chloe tends to be on the loud, constantly moving side. Now she is learning to move quietly and calmly and just sit :)
