Not Much

Not too much has been going on lately. Our Monday night dinners have grown so much that we are quickly running out of room! But I love every minute of it. Before long we are going to need a bigger kitchen. And at least 2 ovens! I have been in the mood to cook/bake lately so I have lots of people to eat the goodies. Right now is the perfect time for pears. I made cinnamon-vanilla poached pears the other night and they were so delicious.
The pregnancy is going well. We find out next Wednesday if we are having a boy or girl. Everyone is pretty excited about that! I have noticed that certain shoes are snug (but my feet don't seem swollen). So now I am wearing heels everyday just in case one day my feet do swell! As I have been going through the shoe closet, I am finding shoes that I had completely forgotten that I even had! It's like getting new shoes all over again! But even if my feet do swell, it's almost winter- which means Uggs! And any size of foot works in Uggs!

19 Weeks

So, from the front I look pretty normal...

But from the side...

I am almost half way done with my pregnancy and so far I have only gained 7 lbs. It looks like I have gained so much more! Everyone kept saying that the second one would be so much different from the first- more laid back, very mild and lowkey. NO! This baby moves so much! I am just sure that this one will have just as much energy as Chloe. But I'm ok with that. I wouldn't know what to do with a mellow child :)

Finally- Pictures!

I finally unpacked enough boxes to find the cords to upload pics from our camera. Here are a few from this month:

Chloe got a new bike, which we can barely get her off!

It took us quite a while to get her to ride her new bike without her heels! For some reason, she thought she HAD to wear heels when she was riding- she's such a girl!

we spent a weekend at the beach with a bunch of friends. We picked a perfect weekend- the weather was in the 80s! Chloe's favorite part was digging and finding "perfect" rocks

Even though the weather was beautiful, the water was still freezing. But the guys were brave and played in the waves. Eventually they were so numb that they enjoyed the water!

On our last day there, the weather got cooler. But it was perfect for flying Chloe's kite :)

My mom came out for a week. We had a great visit and Chloe sot SO MUCH attention from NaNa.

We have a Monday night dinner at our house each week. Chloe has become my "great helper." She helped make enchiladas and then root beer floats for dessert.

She's been helping in the kitchen so much that we got her her very own apron! Now I can't get her out of the kitchen- guess she gets it honestly

Things have been going great here. My next post will have pictures of me- I promise! The new ultrasound date is Oct 18th.

Itchy Feet

My midwife sent me to an OB/GYN to have my foot issue looked at last Friday. After lots of questions and looking at them, they decided it was not the typical pregnancy itchy feet. Instead, it was a neurological problem and wanted to send me to a neurologist for a series of tests. Jeremy was in Canada at the time and I definately needed to discuss spending several hundreds of dollars on a specialty doctor with him!!! So, we decided to wait to schedule it until Monday, after Jeremy had returned. I did talk to him over the phone that same day. We decided it was a waste of money and prayed for healing. When I went to the doctor, my feet were still unbearably itchy. A few hours after we prayed, they were tolerable. By that evening I was taking Benadryl and the itching was hardly noticeable. By Sunday, the itching was completely gone!!! Praise God!
On another note, we have to reschedule my ultrasound because the 28th just isn't going to work for us. So, as soon as I have a new date, it will let everyone know :)

Updates

I just got back from my appointment with my midwife. Baby's heart is very strong and very rapid- and also only one heartbeat! Lots of movement going on in there! I am at 17 weeks and feeling big. There's no more hiding this belly. Eventually I will have a picture up. I have my ultrasound on the 28th- I can't wait to find out what we are having. It will be nice to say "he" or "she" instead of "baby". I am pretty much over the sickness. I still get quesy over some things or smells and first thing in the morning but I'm not puking all the time and I'm keeping real food down! Now I crave salads all the time.
Everything has been going great with the pregnancy. I've gained 5 1/2 pounds. However, there is one little setback. My feet won't stop itching! It's not the little-scratch-here-and-there type of itch. It is the deep-down-painful itch that makes me scratch my feet until they bleed. Last night I slept sitting up on the couch with my feet in a tub of ice water. If they're not numb, they're itching. Apparently, this is a little more common late in pregnancies (mid 3rd trimester) not early 2nd trimester. I have tried everything possible and nothing has helped except the ice water. So after 3 days of itching, I now have an appointment at a dr. office tomorrow morning- if I can make it that long.
We are almost completely moved into our house. I keep running across boxes that need to be unpacked. Chloe is loving her pink room and Max loves his backyard. Work keeps Jeremy pretty busy. This weekend he is flying to Canada for a youth conference. One of these days we'll have a weekend with no plans and we'll be able to sit around the house, maybe watch some TV and just relax. That will be nice!
