Freak Night

Jeremy and one of Jr. High kids

This is Jay our guitar player!

We didn't really match, but we sure are cute!

Not your typical pastors!

I guess our Church's slogan "Not Your Ordinary Church" extends to NXL as well! Last night at church we had our annual Freak Night party. There weren't a lot of costumes to choose from that were cute on me- they don't really make maternity costumes!

Pumpkin Day

We had planned to take Chloe to the pumpkin patch last Saturday but there was a change of events. Chloe had chicken pox! As much as we wanted to take her, we didn't think it would be right to have her around other kids. So, we bought pumpkins and candy corn and had a fun day at home. Jeremy was just going to watch- Chloe was going to paint her pumpkin and I was going to carve mine. But you see how I carve, right? Jeremy did a great job with it! Chloe ended up only have a very mild case and was over the chicken pox quickly. She was hardly itchy and didn't have any that scabbed over. So things are back to normal around our house!

Logan Steele Carpenter

Yep, we're having a boy!!!!! I would put up pictures of his "proof" but I thought it might be kind of wrong ;) The ultrasound went well. There was very little doubt as to the gender- he was on display for all the world to see. Chloe was disappointed for a while because she couldn't see the other babies. It took some time to convince her that we were only having one. She would keep saying, "Just keep looking. There are two more. You have to find them." But finally she accepted the fact that we are only having Logan this time. And now she is so excited about her baby brother. Everyone is excited about having a little boy! Now it's time to finish the nursery!

PS- Linz, sorry you had to wait so long to find out. I tried calling you but I think I have your old number. I didn't want to post it until I called you.

Chloe, the Big Sister

Chloe is very ready to become a big sister! She has been practicing feeding her dolls, dressing them and putting them to bed at night. It is so cute and amazing that she wants to help so much with the new baby. Everyday she talks to my belly or ask to snuggle with the baby. She will lay her head on my tummy and "snuggle" with the baby.

Not Much

Not too much has been going on lately. Our Monday night dinners have grown so much that we are quickly running out of room! But I love every minute of it. Before long we are going to need a bigger kitchen. And at least 2 ovens! I have been in the mood to cook/bake lately so I have lots of people to eat the goodies. Right now is the perfect time for pears. I made cinnamon-vanilla poached pears the other night and they were so delicious.
The pregnancy is going well. We find out next Wednesday if we are having a boy or girl. Everyone is pretty excited about that! I have noticed that certain shoes are snug (but my feet don't seem swollen). So now I am wearing heels everyday just in case one day my feet do swell! As I have been going through the shoe closet, I am finding shoes that I had completely forgotten that I even had! It's like getting new shoes all over again! But even if my feet do swell, it's almost winter- which means Uggs! And any size of foot works in Uggs!
